A Practical CV Format for Jobs in Ethiopia
Show education, experience and credentials clearly while following the vacancy's own document rules.

An Ethiopian CV should make your qualifications easy to verify, but no single layout fits every employer. The Ethiopian Airlines vacancies page shows that some roles require certificates and original documents at registration; others specify a CV and application form. Follow the particular advert rather than a generic template.
Where to start
Start with your name, current city, working phone and professional email. Add a short profile that names the role you seek and gives evidence. Then list recent work with employer, job title, dates and concrete responsibilities or results. A recent graduate can put education, relevant training and practical projects above experience. If a licence or certificate is essential, give its accurate name and current status.
Employers may ask for grade certificates, diploma or degree records, work-experience letters and an ID at a later stage. Keep these ready, but do not attach every sensitive document to a CV circulating publicly. When submitting, use the portal or address printed in the current official notice. Be consistent: dates in your CV should agree with the certificates and online form.
One role, one version
For each application, identify the three most important requirements and make the matching evidence prominent. If the advert asks for an operations technician, put relevant maintenance tasks before unrelated hobbies. Use plain headings, readable formatting and a file name with your name and the role. Save as PDF unless another format is requested.
For international posts, the UN's official application guide and the African Union careers portal govern their own forms. Your CV is a preparation tool; it never replaces required fields or a role-specific application.
